feeling peevish...
Granted, most of us don't enjoy work. So I'm sitting here at work, feeling irritable, pondering things recently (this week) that have peeved me. Since I'd rather not be working, I figured I'd share them with you. =)
In no particular order... (and this is in no way a complete list):
* people who tailgate on the road (highway, freeway, whatever) so close behind me that I can't see their taillights, ESPECIALLY when I'm already going faster (much) than the speed limit and there's room for them to pass
* my stupid freaking garage door opener that for some reason refuses to open the garage door until I get out of the car, walk up within a foot of the door and press it about 5 times
* people who know they're supposed to be at our house at 6:30pm to start gaming but don't bother to call until 7:20pm to ask "So, is there gaming going on?"
* cats that think "outside the box"
* people who watch over my shoulder when I'm on the computer
* people who make a mess then don't clean it up
* cats that throw up hairballs on the carpet in the middle of the night (so the mess is in my path when I get up to go downstairs in the dark to feed them at 6am after feeding the wee one)
Ok...now that's off my chest, I guess I feel better.
Very glad I have the weekend off from events. I need to do laundry! And finish up a new bog dress I've been working on.
Hugs to all.../rude to George W.
Happy Birthday to my wee one!
Yes, he turned one year old today...at 3:52pm, hehe.
We all went over to my parents' house for dinner, cake, and presents. Oh, did he like the cake! He hasn't been exposed to pure sugar before, so he thought this was pretty great stuff, especially the icing.
I'll have pics up soon, I hope. Of course, he was much more interested in the wrapping paper than in the presents, but he got some new clothes, which I'm very happy about. He needs 'em. =) I'm going to have to go shopping soon. He just grows so fast!
I'm so very glad to be his mom. He's pretty wonderful, and I love him so.
Here's hoping for many many more happy birthdays in his future (and ours)!
while I was sleeping...
...a zombie must have come in and eaten my brain! Seriously! I am nearly non-functional today, mentally.
I suppose I could blame lack of sleep. And I'm partly (ok, mostly) to blame for my lack of sleep, due to the incredibly addictive
World of Warcraft MMORPG that I can't seem to stop playing.
I should really be in bed by 9pm every night. But for the past several nights it's been, oh, 11pm...10:30pm...and so forth. You get the picture. When one is woken up anywhere between 3:00 - 6:00am every morning to feed a baby, earlier bedtime is better.
Gonna have to work on that willpower of mine.
In other news, my wee one turns one year old next Monday. Gads! In some ways it seems like just yesterday that I had him. He's so BIG! =)
blue blue Christmas...
...well, Christmas + 3 days. I found out the Tuesday after Christmas that I'd lost the baby. No heartbeat.
New Year's weekend my body began the cleansing process, and that Sunday was the day of misery when I went through the horrible cramps and when the main bulk of the purging happened. It was awful.
Hence my absence from posting. I've been kind of well, uninspired to write.
All the rationalization in the world (1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, most likely from chromosomal problems) still doesn't help the grief.
Granted, I was only 8 weeks along or so, but for me, it was still a great blow. A potential life lost. A potential new joy missed.
Hubby and I haven't really decided whether we're going to try again (planned this time, heh). I've been told to wait at least 2 cycles before trying...but I think it may take longer than that to be ready mentally.
We'll see. My sympathies go out to all those women who have gone through this too. Though it doesn't get talked about a lot in this society, it happens more than you think.
